Vision 4×4: the New Niva?

AvtoVAZ showed a concept SUV 4×4 Vision

Vision 4x4: the New Niva?

A little over a year ago, AVTOVAZ said at the Moscow motor show the company will present an interesting conceptual novelty, which will show how it will look in the second-generation model Lada 4×4 (Niva). And stated one or whether. And the chief designer of VAZ – Steve Mattin. He stated that the WHA “… is preparing to introduce a brand new concept,” adding that this model is very important for AVTOVAZ a value no less than the already released news.

No sooner said than done. AvtoVAZ has really shown the General concept of the Lada Niva of the second generation, calling it a “4×4 Vision”. Here it is:

The exterior concept of 4×4 Vision

As can be seen, in appearance is clearly visible the overall thrust of the brand “X”-style. At the same time, the designers managed to keep the overall original look of the “Fields” forty years ago, which was used and loved by several generations of fans of domestic SUVs. In our opinion, first of all it shows really the high professionalism of the specialists who worked on the concept and, of course, exercise the utmost caution in the interpretation of the novelty, so as not to move away from the source.

Nice to notice that the prototype does not look like a crossover in the General sense. Rather, it is closer in its characteristics to a geometric cross, Suzuki Vitara, Jimny or the same old “Niva”. That is, it can be called SUV. The mighty ground clearance, short overhangs, protection for the underbody and not the long platform, whose length is 4.2 meters (probably talking about the architecture of the Renault-Nissan CMFB-LS). This is what is seen from the side.

There are still some huge, enormous, 21-inch tri-colour light-alloy wheels that we see, presumably, solely on the concept of “Fields” of the future. Note that on the prototype unusually beaten front door, creating a rather long the basis of the feeling of “korotkoi”. First, they have a significant punch, reflecting the “X”-style, secondly, the handles are hidden flush with the surface of the door (a standard technique to create a beautiful, smooth picture. In the series of course this will not happen), and thirdly, most importantly, the front doors long back. This creates a feeling that before us is a coupe.

By the way, the rear doors are opened against “the grain”. As for Mazda RX-8.

Front end features that have become signature black grille, headlights and taillights are made in the latest style – a narrow, led.

Interior 4×4 Vision

Interior sporty and no less futuristic than the exterior of the 4×4 Vision. The combination of three colors makes the salon a fun, materials, upholstery – cloth, the idea they should be easily removed from the mud. In the center console visible LCD screen infotainment system, underneath the screen like the range Rover Velar. The instrument panel – also electronic.

Transmission with the “PRND”, indicating that automatic, with the selector lever is the washer choice driving modes. The multifunction steering wheel also pririsoval. If the appearance of the serial model may remain roughly the like of which we see before us now, inside the actual SUV’s second generation, such as in the prototype, we will not see. What about electronic devices referred to “Fields”?! However, most likely the center console will go in the series.

Notwithstanding the presentation the specific numbers from AVTOVAZ has not sounded. Only General phrases about the “extreme” measure of the angle of entry and off-road transmission with “a wide range of high and low ratios”…

The appearance of the production model could happen in three to four years.
