The roots of the event, now known as the “Wasteland Weekend”, go deep into 2009 (mind you, long before the release on the big screens of the fourth part of the adventures of max) when around 150 fans of Mad Max decided to go on a big hike in the desert. They dubbed the event “Road Warrior Weekend”.
