Lexus has published two teasers of the new RZ 450e electric crossover, giving a glimpse of the car’s exterior and interior. The premiere of the model will take place on April 20, 2022.

The body outlines of the car will resemble the Toyota bZ4X platform crossover, the serial version of which debuted in the fall of 2021. The main distinguishing feature of the cabin will be an unusual steering wheel with a cut off upper and lower segment, reminiscent of the Y-shaped steering wheel that appeared on Tesla electric cars in early 2022.

Such an element will become available as an option for cars where there will be no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and wheels – control will be carried out “by wire” using compact electric motors and sensors.

As for the technical stuffing, there is no data about it yet. The sister model Toyota bZ4X is available in the initial version with a single electric motor developing 204 hp. and 265 Nm of torque. Plus, the model provides for a modification with two units that produce a total of 218 forces and 336 Nm, and all-wheel drive. In the latter case, the car is able to gain “hundred” in 7.7 seconds.

Depending on the version, a set of 74.1 kWh batteries allows you to drive from 470 to 515 kilometers on a single charge. With the help of a special fast recharging system, it is possible to replenish the stock of batteries from zero to 80% in half an hour.
