The new BMW M2 will not only be different grille size “XXL” but will get a new engine capacity of 420 HP!
In 2022 it is planned to market the second generation of the BMW M2, which will definitely surprise all fans of sport cars of this brand. In the first place, it is expected that new model will get a huge radiator grille in the style of the crossover BMW X7. Many fans of the scares will look like the huge grille on the car. I hasten to reassure the grille will make the car more aggressive and attractive. This was proved by the recent leak of photos from the future new BMW M3, which is also, apparently, gets a big grille. Here is how this model looks:
Apparently, BMW has planned a complete change of appearance of the model range, along with a new image of the company (which became clear after the change of the brand logo). The fact that the Bavarians decided to change “language of design” their cars mainly due to the large grille, confirms the concept car BMW Concept 4, which got a huge grid size. Based on this model in the future we will see a new model 3 and 4 series. Here is the concept with the grille size XXL:
Most likely, this concept will be inspired by the designers of the new M2, which will be released on the market under the code name G87. So the new model will get pointed line body design, a huge grille, and also new decorative elements of the body. The magazine AutoBild has traditionally presented its vision for a new model M2, suggesting renderingmode image with a possible design of the future sports car. Here’s how, according to German car magazine might look like the BMW M2.
The new engine capacity of 420 HP in the BMW M2 (G87)

The good news: M2 will probably get a new engine! According to the magazine Autocar, the engine power of the new generation of the BMW M2 will be reduced to 420 HP – But nevertheless it’s still a huge power. Especially in combination with a maximum torque of 550 nm!
But most importantly, the fans of BMW can sleep peacefully. The new model will remain rear-wheel-drive. All as promised the BMW in 2019. Another good news is that manual transmission should not disappear. So, most likely, the new M2 will continue to be available as a six-speed manual transmission and eight-speed automatic transmission.
BMW M2 could get a hybrid powertrain and a new modification of the “Gran Coupe”
Experts also suggest that, as the new M2 based on the new platform BMW CLAR (on the basis it produced the BMW Z4 and Toyota Supra), it is likely that the soft M2 can first obtain the hybrid engine. However, perhaps only with a facelift in 2025 or 2026. In Autocar, analysts also suggest that BMW is planning to launch a new modification of the M2 Gran Coupe. This model may come to market with all-wheel drive and get 400 horsepower under the hood. With this new model, the BMW M GmbH division will bring to market a competitor to the Audi RS 3 and the Mercedes-AMG A 45.
