The Germans again took up the old: an overview of estate car Lada Vesta and Lada Vesta Cross
New Russian wagons Vesta martial price on the fields in Germany: Overview
Exactly a week ago, we published excerpts from an article by the German magazine AutoBild, in which the burghers of surveyed domestic universal Lada Vesta SW. Amazing was the fact that spoiled many excellent car models of the German journalists largely spoke positively about the new touring production of AVTOVAZ. No less surprising was the reaction of the domestic readers, divided into two unequal groups.
One, the most part, fiercely bullied (no other word to choose) car, and the total mass of this was done on emotion, unfounded and very rude. One of the most popular “evidence” that the machine is all bad, rather that it will be all bad, because at the moment there is a small percentage of people, who are already on the wagon to overcome more than 100 thousand km: “… our auto industry” (despite the fact that a large part belongs to the Renault-Nissan Alliance), “bucket of bolts”, “the trough of the 90s”. That is to say, do constructive criticism with well-chosen evidence base.*
The second, smaller part, was trying to prove a negative, often through their own experience or referring to the opinions of servicemen.
*Be warned once, if you decide to read the comments, you must be over 18 years of age. In the arguments opponents used the Mat.
Holivar between the two warring camps in seven days has grown to a decent size, so at the peak of interest in the Lad, we simply could not raise another survey with German car magazine AutoBild, this time on a short test wagon SW Vesta Cross in comparison with a conventional universal Vesta. Perhaps he will also reveal the truth about the corruption of German journalists, if they dare to call an insufficient number of minuses of the new “bucket of bolts” from AVTOVAZ.
Here are some excerpts from the article:
*Maybe the translation from German is not a reference, but the General gist, I hope, we will give faithfully, without distortion.
“The company Lada is trying to gain market share in Germany and launches the generic version of Vesta in the “Off-road”. Test and all the information!”, so goes the beginning of the article.
“Russian Lada cars used in Germany is not the best reputation. “Covered with dust” technology, comic design, but with the Vesta SW Cross Russian want to start with a clean slate. Since 2012, the Renault-Nissan won the majority of shares in the company and began to clear the lineup from dust.
The first result was seen in the summer of 2017, when the current Vesta sedan came to us (approx. in Germany) on the market. It was followed by the model in the station wagon – Vesta SW version SW Cross – more upscale pseudo-offroad version.
Vesta is built on self-developed platform, the engine and transmission are also developing Russians. The exterior design stands out thanks to the “X”- form which reveals itself as on the grille and on the sides. Overall, 4,41 meter Vesta-universal looks pretty modern.”
Yeah, the Germans, as in the last review called universal Vesta is a modern looking car. AvtoVAZ, recognize how much bought foreign journalists?!
Interior: simple materials and a lot of space in the cabin
“Modern design, simple materials, so it is possible to summarize the feeling of the interior of Vesta. The quality can be compared with the models of Dacia: durable, solid and even pretty nice interior.
There is no high-tech frills, however, everything in the car. Central console with small compartment for small things slightly swaying, the front seats were quite good support, they are comfortable and will fit people of different sizes.
What’s really inconvenient Cup holders in the center console was so flat that even little bottles they barely held. Steering wheel adjustable for height and reach”. Later in the log describes whether the advantages of folding the rear seats, or passenger comfort, is not entirely clear. In General, another plus for the Frets.
And here’s the negative: “However, the head restraints of the rear seats must not be set up. Thus, high passengers have an additional problem. The trunk holds 480 liters (measured to the lower edge of the window, not to the ceiling) with the folded seats capacity increases to 825 liters).
Smart decision to make two shelves for small items in the trunk. They can be retrieved separately”.
Dark again something the Germans. Is it really happy or disingenuous?
Equipment: Good equipment already in the database
“Unfortunately, Lada security is pretty simple: four airbags (the same as Dacia Sandero), ABS, ESP and Brake Assist – that’s all.
Nevertheless, the basic equipment has already received air conditioning, audio system with Bluetooth, cruise control, electric mirrors, and rain and light sensors, Central locking, Parking sensors, heated front seats and a cooled glove box.
In the next higher configuration “standard” is set: 16-inch wheels, front and rear armrests, metallic paint.
Version of “Comfort” includes a rearview camera, a navigation system and tinted side glass.
In the package “Luxury” equipment expanded heated windscreen, automatic climate control, USB connector for rear passengers and heated seats for them.
SW Cross further equipped with 17-inch wheels, included for him in the standard”.
Nothing to add. In principle, the standard for Vesta which is sold in Russia. Maybe the problem lies in the price? In Germany Vesta are exorbitant money.
The engine and price: 12.990 euros (1 million rubles)
“In Germany Lada offers only one engine option for all models: a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with maximum power and torque of 106 HP and 148 Nm, respectively.
You can choose only type of transmissions: either take a mechanical five-speed, or add 700 euros and buy a car with an automatic five-speed transmission (only for the complete “Suite”).
Both versions develop a maximum speed of 180 km / h, consumption ranges from 6.5 to 6.9 liters. For 2.900 euros you can also go to gas equipment.
Base combination SW Vesta starts from 12.990 euros. “Standard” is from 14.990 € , the Version “Comfort” – 15.950 Euro. If you want to treat yourself to full luxury, you will have to pay 16.250 Euro.
For Vesta Cross SW prices for the Standard package starting from € 15.990, a little more “Comfort” – Euro 16.950, and the full “Deluxe” version will cost € 17.290 – nearly 1,000 euros more than the regular wagon.
On both models Lada is a five-year warranty: three-year warranty on a new car plus a two-year additional warranty (offer not valid on “Base” version)”.
Looks like you caught the Germans themselves. Why they didn’t say anything about the cost model? Silent. Clearly hiding something. Agree that 1.3 million rubles, in the translation of the value of the maximum SW Vesta Cross for our money, it’s a perfect bust! Moreover, the model, as commentators suggest, the technology remained at the level of the Toyota 90-ies. After all, if I immutable memory it was at that time the Japanese had already put the USB jacks, ABS, ESP and Brake Assist for their budget of Korolki. Or not…?
However, we still indignant: “what For to pay such money! Ho!”
The conclusion about universals Vesta SW and SW Cross
“Vesta SW and SW Cross are interesting alternatives in low-price segment, which attract a moderate price tag and plenty of amenities. Of course, they cannot expect miracles.
Important not to let “basic”- equipped models to force you to buy something is only in one color, and only with a three year warranty. A reasonable version of Vesta is a universal can only be obtained from 14.990 Euro (1.154.000 rubles).
In any case, both new models have a good chance if getting rid of the bad brand image and the presence of well-developed dealer network.”
And again, praise the West. Disorder!
Can offer to the Germans to carry out a full test drive any of the cars of the family Lada Vesta? The other day we wrote about a similar test Hyundai Tucson (Long-term test Hyundai Tucson [more than 100 thousand km without a break]). He, too, took place in Germany. The SUV hitting more than 100 thousand km, the tracking performance of the machine, breakage, etc., and then to study the effects of operation of the SUV completely disassembled it. Perhaps such a test would put an end to the disputes between the two types of motorists. In General, this is just our opinion.
