By the way, about the salon. It is planned to issue it in the same way as the new C-Class – with a digital “tidy” on the tablet and a huge vertical screen on the center console with a diagonal of 11.9 inches. Significant progress in sound insulation is also promised, to improve which the Mercedes will additionally treat the central tunnel with a special 2 mm bitumen-based coating.

Technically, the second generation GLC is also unified with the C-class. First of all, they are “related” to the common MRA2 modular platform with a steering rear axle (so far no model in the segment has one) and optional air suspension, and secondly, one range of engines.

The basis of the latter will be “turbo four”: petrol GLC 200 (204 hp) and GLC 300 (258 hp), as well as diesel GLC 220 d (200 hp) and GLC 300 d (265 hp .). Only one six-cylinder version of the GLC 400 d with an in-line 3.0-liter turbodiesel will break out of this row, which the C-class does not have. A small 48-volt starter-generator will be built next to each of these motors, adding 22 hp to the output. and 250 Nm of torque.

All other modifications will be hybrid. Among them, among other things, there will be rechargeable hybrids GLC 300 e, GLC 400 e and GLC 300 de, each of which is equipped with a four-cylinder engine (the first two are gasoline, the third is diesel) and a nine-speed “automatic” with a built-in 136 hp electric motor. With. and 440 Nm of torque.

Finally, the “charged” Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 and GLC 63 crossovers will also become hybrids, but we will see them only in 2023. At the same time, the coupe-like GLC Coupe of the new generation will also be released, which will most likely receive the same “technique” as the usual one.
