New information about the new BMW Z4 – here it is
Long wait for new items ended, 2019 BMW Z4 Roadster with a classic soft-top was developed in close cooperation with Toyota officially announced. What can you say about the new product?
Presentation: 8-Series inspired!
Presentation, as expected, was held at the competition Concours d’elegance in Pebble Beach. The entrance of the event were presented the special model “M40i First Edition”, painted in the colors of “Frozen Orange Metallic”. This is, without exaggeration, the top model in one of the best models: glossy black top and no less than black 19-inch wheels – that’s its distinctive features along with other expensive “chip”.
As has been clear for a long time, overall, the new Z4 again re-appear in the form of this Roadster. In a direct comparison with the BMW Z4 study Concept, changes, surprisingly, made very little. Of course, if you look at the details, it is possible to distinguish two Roadster. Elegant mirrors, no less than an elegant arc safety behind the driver on the prototype has not passed the production version.
But it’s all the little things, because in the rest of the Roadster debuted as two drops of water similar to that proposed some years ago the concept of. By the way, note that instead of the usual vertical grille, the BMW used in their firm “nostrils” of the net. Probably this is a reference to the model 328 Mille Miglia 1939. A similar surprise is in the details waiting for us upon closer inspection of the headlights. For the first time on a BMW daytime running lights are not located next to and over each other. BMW breaks his own erected stereotypes?
The back is also very similar to the previously presented study. Have M40i includes a bumper with several impressive ventilation holes on the sides, which are located above the pipes of the exhaust system. Slim rear lights unusual complex forms and the built in trunk spoiler complete the picture. The finishing touches are hinting at similarities with the earlier “eighth” series.
From the technical features of the production version are marked: shorter wheelbase (at least it convinced many experts studying pictures). It is shorter not only than the previous model, but also in relation to the prototype of a new Roadster.
The distribution of the axle loads should be the ideal of 50: 50. The weight of the new Roadster Z4 will probably be only 1400 kg, thanks to the use of carbon. It’s almost 150 pounds less than the BMW Z4 E89 2016 release.
Other technical details of the BMW will be announced on 19 September, when the final production version of the Roadster will be officially unveiled at the Paris motor show.
A few words about the interior and engines
Inside the “special edition” will be installed Z4 black leather seats “Vernasca”, the atmosphere will hold ambient lighting and audio system Harman Kardon Premium. The model will also be equipped with “head-up” display and 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. A distinctive feature of the latter will be ample opportunity settings.
Near the work of driving the display in the center pane, there is one large display (presumably 10.25 in). It is located on turned to the driver of the torpedo.

At the moment, BMW has released few specs about the future of their models. The automaker confirmed that M40i will have a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that produces 335 HP (250 kW). This will allow the Roadster to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 4.4 seconds.
