Porsche has introduced a new version of the 911 sports car called the Sport Classic, which has become part of the Heritage Design line. Within its framework, the Germans create modern cars with recognizable elements of classic models from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.

So, the characteristic body with wide wheel arches gives a reference to the original 911 of the first generation, produced from 1964 to 1973. And, for example, a rigidly fixed composite rear spoiler is made in the spirit of the “duck tail” of the famous 1972 911 Carrera RS 2.7.

The series’ exclusive Fashion Gray color with sporty white longitudinal stripes is intended to recall the legendary Porsche 356, the first model of the German brand.

Another feature of the coupe was the absence of air intakes in the rear fenders, which are typical for all modern 911s with the prefix “Turbo”. Instead, air for additional cooling of the power unit enters through special holes behind the spoiler.

The interior, which is dominated by dark cognac hues, made extensive use of semi-aniline leather, which was previously used on the famous 918 Spyder super hybrid. Contrasting inserts in micro-checked two-tone pepita fabric allude to a similar option that was first available on the classic 911 in 1965.

Two state-of-the-art high-resolution seven-inch digital displays are paired with a large analogue tachometer with a classic hand.

As for the technical part, the Porsche 911 Sport Classic has become the most powerful member of the modern 911 family, equipped with a manual transmission. The coupe is equipped with a 3.7-liter flat-six engine with variable geometry turbines, developing 550 horsepower. The motor works together with a seven-speed “mechanics” with a short-stroke handle. Traction is transmitted exclusively to the rear axle.

The standard equipment of the car includes a specially tuned proprietary PASM adaptive suspension with a 10 mm lower ground clearance, as well as carbon-ceramic brakes. Plus, the sports car received a fully controlled chassis – rear wheels turning at a slight angle increase stability at high speeds and maneuverability at low speeds.

In total, 1,250 of these vehicles will be produced, which are already available for order at a price of 272,714 euros. The first cars will reach buyers in July this year.
