Audi revealed new models of the A5 and S5 Sportback
Audi has lifted the veil of secrecy hanging over their two new models, 2017 Audi A5 Sportback and S5 Sportback shortly before the start of the Paris motor show, which will be held early next month.
The appearance of the updated 2017 Audi A5 and S5 Sportback
For a start, look around the car from the outside. The first sensation that you will experience in the study of the style of the new A5 Sportback, its design is closely intertwined with the appearance of the Audi A5 coupe, the updated version of which was shown a few months ago. Of all the tweaks on the exterior more than the most developed and attracts attention – the front part of the car where the hexagonal faceted diamond emblazoned filesresearch radiator made in the corporate style Audi. Other style changes to the current model include a remodeled hood with four longitudinal folds dividing the surface into three parts, added design changes on sides of the car and the rear of the car with the modified taillights.
The new A5 Sportback is the same MLB platform as the coupe. However, the wheelbase has been lengthened with 2,764 2,824 mm to mm, increasing the space in the rear of the car.
Technical specifications of two models 2017, the A5/S5
From the point of view of engines, a family of 2017 A5 Sportback is available with the same set of engines that we have seen in the coupe. This means that the entry-level model, plus received the name G-Tron is powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI engine producing 167 HP with 270 Nm of torque. Next, the line includes two additional variant of the same engine but with increased power of 187 HP/320 Nm and 248 HP/370 Nm of torque respectively. The most powerful petrol model is called the 2017 S5 Sportback. A distinctive feature of the sportsman is its 3.0-liter TFSI engine, outstanding on-mountain 348 HP and 500 Nm of torque.
As for the diesel engines, here Audi offers four new models.
2.0 TDI and the 2.0 TDI Ultra has 187 HP and 400 Nm of torque, while the base 3.0-liter TDI develops already 214 horses and 400 Nm. Finally, the most powerful version of the 3.0-litre TDI with 281 HP and 620 Nm of monstrous torque.
The standard actuator for Audi, front-wheel and all-wheel drive variants are available, depending on engine and configuration. The engine range is paired with a six-speed manual, seven-speed KAA dual clutch or eight-speed automatic transmission.

Within the same set of functions, which we saw from the new range of A5 Coupe, Sportback moved in. The entry-level model and an entertainment system with 7.0-inch display, the top versions of the A5 will be used an 8.3-inch screen together with 12.3-inch virtual display brand tidy. One of the most interesting additions to the new A5 Sportback was advanced adaptive cruise control called Stop&Go. In slow traffic, at speeds up to 65 km/h, the car will be able to brake and accelerate, and on good roads, may even take control of steering, if it is allowed by external conditions.
In Germany, the cost of a new A5 Sportback starts from € 37,800 ($ 42,500) and 62.500 euros ($ 70,285) for the charged version.
