Named 100 of the most popular car models in Europe
Lada Vesta took 56th place among the most sold cars in Europe
Well-known consulting Agency Focus2move released a new lengthy report over 2018, which identified nearly 100 models of cars the most popular in sales in 2018. The study addressed the first six months of the current year, from January to June and showed how many sold pieces of models of various car brands.
The report combined data on sales of passenger cars in 28 countries of the European Union, plus 3 countries of the European free trade Association (Norway, Iceland and Switzerland) and the countries of Eastern and southern Europe, which includes countries such as Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia, Moldova, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia and Albania.
The top five best-selling models turned out for the period from January to June next: Volkswagen Golf, Renault Clio, Volkswagen Polo, Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Tiguan. As can be seen from five seats to three busy VW.
The most popular model is Volkswagen Golf. Its sales for the first six months amounted to almost 300 thousand units of vehicles, said according to the consulting Agency growth of 6.4%. Really “pumped up” the month of June, to 2.6%, but it did not change position.
In second place is “French” Renault Clio with a huge gap in sales. For the first half of 2018 was sold just over 200 thousand cars. The number is also of course huge, but compared to the leader lag more than significant. Within six months, the model showed sales growth of 2.6%in June, the demand for French model was greater by 4.8%.
In third place once again Volkswagen, this time a Polo. He remains on sales from the French automaker’s only 4 thousand vehicles. So by the end of the year will be interesting to see who will take second place.
With more than 14 million sales, Polo is one of the most successful compact cars ever released in the world. A true best seller! The sixth generation was launched in late 2017, with a new exterior design, is noticeably more spacious interior, which was also redesigned on all sides.
Fourth place – the Ford Fiesta with 162 thousand units of equipment sold in countries of Europe, including Russia. -1.4% in six months, but the upside of 13.1% for the sixth month.
The top five closes the Volkswagen Tiguan with its 159 thousand sold crossovers. Only in June were sold 31 thousand.
Top 10 finish:
Nissan Qashqai with 156.455 (+1.0%)
Skoda Octavia 146.174 (+8.2%)
Peugeot 208 135,736 (+1,5%)
The Ford Focus is located only on the 9th place (last year the figure was 8 th position) with 133,282 units (and 2.8%)
10th place- Citroen C3 123.196 (-1.6%)
And finally, the list includes several domestic cars: Lada VESTA and the number 52.176 units rose to 56th place, on 47.7%, ahead of Kia Ceed, Mazda CX-5 and Nissan X-Trail.
But the Lada Granta, on the contrary, lost 8 seats, leaving from 57th to 65th place. However, its sales for the six months was quite high – 46.607 PCs.
