A rare McLaren F1 supercar was sold at the Gooding & Company classic car auction in Pebble Beach, California . For a coupe with a mileage of less than 400 km, they paid $ 20,465,000.

The car with chassis number “029” became the 25th production copy of the legendary model, the circulation of which was limited to only 106 copies. The supercar of the British brand in 1998 hit the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest car in the world, when a specially modified supercar with a maximum engine speed limiter was able to accelerate to 386.4 km per hour. The model held this title until 2005, when the Swedish Koenigsegg CCR showed a top speed of 387.87 km per hour.

The McLaren F1 is powered by a redesigned 6.1-liter BMW V12 engine that develops 627 hp. and 650 Nm of torque. Transmission – 6-speed “mechanics”. The powertrain compartment and cover are plated with natural gold, used as a heat-reflecting material.

The car up for sale has a unique body color called Creighton Brown, designed individually for the buyer. The car’s odometer reads only 381 km. The initial price of a rare car at the time of the opening of the auction was equal to $ 15 million, but in the end the final bid was $ 20,465,000.
