Jeep has released a new seven-seater crossover
The American company has developed a new crossover Commander for South America, based on the European Compass
Jeep has unveiled a new seven-seater Commander crossover. At the same time, the car has nothing to do with the Chinese model of the same name , produced since 2018. The novelty was developed specifically for the countries of South America – the premiere of the car will take place at the end of August in Brazil.
The South American Jeep Commander is a lengthened version of the updated European Compass crossover , which debuted in April this year. It externally differs slightly from it in some body elements, including a bumper and a radiator grill, as well as increased dimensions and a third row in the cockpit.
The interior is essentially the same as the Compass, with the new Commander featuring the same 10.25-inch virtual instrument cluster as well as a separate 10.1-inch square touchscreen display for the infotainment complex.
The technical characteristics of the car have not yet been announced. According to unofficial data, the car will be offered with a 1.3-liter petrol turbo engine, operating in conjunction with a 6-speed automatic transmission, or with a 2.0-liter supercharged diesel engine and a 9-band “automatic”. The crossover will be available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive versions.
The official premiere will take place in Brazil on August 26 this year. The release of the new Jeep Commander will be established at the Stellantis plant in the state of Pernambuco.
