BMW has published teasers of the most extreme version of the M4 sports coupe under the designation CSL (Coupe Sport Lightweight). The public premiere of the car will take place as part of the annual Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, which will take place from 20 to 22 May in Italy.

Compared to other options, the CSL version will receive a significantly lighter design. Engineers will abandon part of the sound insulation and the rear row of seats in the cabin, where a sports roll cage will appear. In addition, a number of metal body parts will be replaced with elements made of composite materials.

As for the engine, the new BMW M4 CSL will be equipped with a significantly upgraded 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine, the output of which will be increased from 510 to 550-560 horsepower. The engine will work together with a modified eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

The BMW M4 CSL is expected to be limited to 1,000 copies. In the US, car prices will start at around $160,000.

Over the next months, BMW will introduce several new products at once. In particular, we are talking about the third-generation X1 compact crossover , as well as the M2 sports coupe , which will be launched at an enterprise in Mexican San Luis Potosi.
