Bentley introduced a new version of the Bentayga crossover with an extended wheelbase
Bentley has introduced an extended version of the Bentayga crossover – Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB). Given the huge amount of work done on it, the British brought it into a separate model, adjacent to the Continental convertible and coupe, the Flying Spur sedan and the base Bentayga.

The easiest way to recognize the elongated Bentayga is by its body: its length is increased by 197 mm (up to 5322 mm), and the wheelbase is “stretched” by an additional 180 mm (up to 3175 mm). In addition, the Bentayga EWB features an original vertical bar grille and large 22-inch wheels, which are no longer available for a surcharge, but by default.
In order to make a long-wheelbase crossover out of an ordinary crossover, Bentley engineers and designers used 2,500 new parts, as well as redrawn the interior, which received a new 4 + 1 landing formula, where the “one” is a simple folding insert between the rear seats, on which you can formally place more one passenger. For conservatives, however, the usual versions with four or five seats will still be available.
Either way, the Bentayga EWB will have the latest Airline Seats in the back, which Bentley calls the most advanced seats ever fitted to a car. In addition to the fact that they can be adjusted in up to 22 directions, they have two modes (Business Mode for passenger work on the go and Relax Mode for maximum relaxation) and their own posture adjustment system. The latter automatically adjusts the position of the seat and measures the pressure on its surface: 177 individual settings can be used in six independent pressure zones that can minimize fatigue during trips and at the same time ensure the correct (physiologically) position of the human back.
Other “chips” of the elongated Bentayga include a smart ventilation system in the cabin (in the rear it turns on only when passengers are detected), electric rear doors (previously none of the brand’s models had such an option), Diamond Illumination LED lighting in the door panels and a redesigned relative to the usual Bentayga, the roof, the hatch in which is shifted towards the stern by 12.5 centimeters.
It will be possible to order a new long-wheelbase crossover with only one, 4.0-liter V8 engine with a capacity of 550 horsepower (although the regular Bentayga also has a more status V12). Combined with an eight-speed “automatic” and all-wheel drive, it allows you to gain 100 km / h in 4.6 seconds and accelerate to 290 km / h.
The start of sales of the Bentley Bentayga EWB is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022. Prices have not yet been named, but the company expects that in about half of the cases, Bentayga buyers will choose it.
