The German company Schmid GmbH, which is based in the small town of Traiching, has presented an unusual version of the Russian off-road vehicle Lada Niva Legend . According to Autoforum , the novelty has received an electric power plant. The price for a “green” SUV is 19,900 euros (about 1.72 million rubles).

The novelty was equipped with an electric motor with a power of more than 80 hp, batteries with a capacity of 30 kWh, as well as a 220-volt outlet, which is located in the trunk. The creators of the car claim that the car can travel 300 km without recharging, but the publication believes that the real figure will be several times less.

On the official website, the Germans made calculations, according to which it turns out that the owners of an electric Lada Niva will be able to save about 2000 euros on fuel per year. Also, Schmid GmbH recalled that “green” cars have not been taxed in this country for 10 years.

At the beginning of this year, AvtoVAZ decided to rename the Lada 4 × 4 SUV and returned it to its original name Niva, after which the car became known as Lada Niva Legend. The only changes in the model’s design are brand nameplates and new exhaust ventilation pads on the rear pillars.

An ordinary SUV is equipped with a 1.7-liter gasoline engine producing 83 hp. with. and 129 Nm of torque. Also, the car has retained a five-speed “mechanics”, four-wheel drive, transfer case and center differential lock.

In addition to the Russian SUV, Schmid GmbH was switched to electricity by Dacia (Renault) Sandero. Prior to that, the Germans also sold the “green” Volkswagen Golf of the third generation.

Earlier, the Czech startup MW Motors created an electric car based on the UAZ Hunter SUV. At the moment, the company has already opened the acceptance of orders for the new product. Prices for a “green” SUV called Spartan start at 39,990 euros (about 3.46 million rubles). The power of the electrical installation is 160 horsepower. The engine of the car is powered by a battery pack with a capacity of 56 to 90 kilowatt-hours.
