New car brand: meet Indi EV and its interesting car
Startup Independent Electric Vehicles (Indi EV) has announced plans to become the “next Tesla.” It is assumed that the first cars of the new brand will be on sale next year.

Interestingly, Independent Electric Vehicles was founded back in 2017, but it presented its first car only at the New York Auto Show in 2022. But the new brand plans to start producing cars very soon – it is promised that an electric car called One EV will come to to the first buyers already in 2023 (and orders are already being accepted at all). In Europe, the model will also appear, but “a little later.”
However, it is not yet clear where Indi EV will produce its cars – a large factory is needed for full-fledged serial production. There is little information about the car itself: for example, even on the official website of Indi EV you can not find data on the dimensions of One EV. But, apparently, the length of the car will be about 4.8 m, that is, it will compete with the Tesla Model Y.

But on the other hand, the company has already announced that One EV will be available in two versions. Base will be the Indi One EV Standard, a rear-wheel drive single-engine crossover that will produce 205 kW (278 hp) and accelerate the car from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 6.7 seconds. There will be a 75 kWh battery with a power reserve of 370 km.
The Indi One Premium model will already receive two engines with a total power of 349 kW (474 hp), an all-wheel drive system and 95 kWh batteries, which should be enough for 480 km of travel. Up to 96 km / h, such a car will accelerate in 4.2 s.

In addition, the Premium version should learn some kind of “especially powerful computer” called Vehicle Integrated Computer (VIC), thanks to which it will provide constant access to the Internet, video streaming, autopilot, etc. “We believe that in the future the capabilities of electric vehicles will be measured more quickly. processing power than engine power,” said chief designer Andre Hudson.

By the way, prices have already been announced. The Indi One EV Standard will cost $45,000. And the premium version with two motors is $63,800.
