Lexus upgraded the UX crossover
The compact Japanese crossover received a reinforced design and a multimedia complex with a touch screen
Lexus introduced an updated version of the UX compact crossover, which appeared in 2018. The model received some design changes, and also acquired an improved infotainment complex.
Engineers added 20 additional weld points in the sidewalls around the rear doors, which significantly strengthened the structure. In addition, the electronic power steering and shock absorbers have been upgraded. Finally, the model received new run-flat tires.
The touchpad, which was responsible for managing the multimedia system, disappeared from the cabin. Now all the main functions can be controlled using a high-resolution touch display with a diagonal of 8 or 12.3 inches. An “electronic key” has become available for the car: you can open, close, start the engine and remotely control some systems using a mobile application on your smartphone.
In addition, the F Sport variant received adaptive suspension with Yamaha’s specially tuned firmer dampers. Also, the crossover also differs from other options with a sports steering wheel, aluminum pedals, seats with enhanced lateral support and a special transmission selector.
World sales of the updated Lexus UX will begin this summer. Car prices will be announced later.
