Land Rover Defender with three rows of seats first seen in tests
The new version of Land Rover Defender will receive the index “130” and can accommodate up to eight people
Land Rover has begun testing a new modification of the Defender SUV with three rows of seats. For the first time, photo spies managed to photograph a car during tests. Pictures of the new items were posted by Motor1 . According to them, the car, which will receive the index “130”, will be able to accommodate up to eight people. The largest Defender will premiere next year.
In the spy photos, the SUV is hidden under camouflage film. However, you can already see the elongated rear of the car. There are no other changes in the exterior of the car yet. According to unofficial data, the size of the wheelbase of the novelty will be 3022 mm, as in the Defender 110 version, but the body length will grow by about 340 mm – up to 5100 mm.
The publication assumes that the prototype in the pictures is equipped with a hybrid unit based on a 360-horsepower gasoline “six”. The SUV will also be available with a 550-horsepower V8 engine.
In February 2021, Land Rover unveiled the most powerful and fastest modification of the new Defender – with an eight-cylinder petrol engine. The SUV was equipped with a five-liter V8 engine with a mechanical supercharger, developing 525 hp. and 625 Nm of torque.
In Russia, at the moment, the new Land Rover Defender is offered with three-liter six-cylinder diesel engines with a capacity of 200 and 249 hp, as well as with a 400-horsepower hybrid unit based on a gasoline “six”. All motors work in conjunction with an 8-speed automatic transmission, as well as four-wheel drive with a dual-speed transfer case.
