New look, new technology and a plug-in hybrid: what surprised updated E-Class
Meet the Mercedes-Benz E-Class 2021 model year! Updated tech German sedan, the debut of which was initially planned for the Geneva motor show (later cancelled due to coronavirus) was shown today on the Internet.
Changes in the business sedan so much that, despite the formal statement that this restyling seems quite different, though before us a brand new model! Major changes produces not only substantially revised the appearance, but also new technology, more modern safety technology and three unique configurations, which was not earlier. Sports modification of the E-Class Sport also has been updated almost beyond recognition.
To the line E-Class of 2021 joins the hybrid model “e350e plug-in“, and updated model “E53 performance“.
Changes in appearance 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
The most obvious update of the business line E-Class of 2021, of course, is appearance. In particular, the front part of the sedan and station wagon, which traditionally arrives late.
Car headlights have become sleeker and more compact (it is obviously visible that designers tried to fit them in the form of a General line of new A – and C-Class), with the sleek lines of the LEDs (will be standard on all models) and the new grille, elegantly flowing at an angle downward. Model E53 (pictured below) is shown more clearly delineated vertical strap filesresearch, modified compared to previous version of the body W213.
The rear part is also new, it also shows the imprint of the violent activities of the design Department of Mercedes: the shape of the trunk has undergone some visual changes and rear lights were different, similar in shape we’ve seen on the CLA sedan and A-Class .
Buyers can now choose from three new color schemes: Graphite Grey, Silver and Mojave Cirrus Silver.

Change in the interior of E-Class
Open the door and see that 2021 E-Class received a new infotainment display system with MBUX 12.3-inch Central touch screen and the corresponding 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. In addition, the center console has a new touchpad (the same as in the other previously presented the new Mercedes-Benz models). In each configuration there is a new version of trim.
Otherwise we have the same sturdy, comfortable and upscale salon is the most desirable sedan in the MB lineup.
Security
E-the class of 2021 will also use the latest equipment active safety development at Mercedes-Benz . This equipment includes: new steering wheel with tracking removing hands from the steering wheel, adaptive cruise control with “Stop-&-Go”, the active steering control, the automatic emergency braking system, an active system for tracking objects in the blind spot and the external camera at 36 degrees, with advanced monitoring lateral view. All of this first appears on the E-Class.

As for the engines… Model E450 resets your old twin-turbo V6 to replace its latest turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine from Benz with the function of EQ Boost*.

Power remains at 362 horsepower (269 kW) and 500 Newton metres, as in the E53 AMG. With the same linear six E53 AMG produces 429 HP (320 kW) и520 Nm, the same as last year. The base model E350 with rear wheel drive and E350 4Matic , meanwhile, uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, good for 255 HP (190 kW) and 370 Nm.
*With the support of the starter-generator EQ Boost electric auxiliary compressor creates high boost pressure without the slightest delay for a more rapid increase in torque and acceleration as long as the work boost will not be picked up by large turbine-powered standard exhaust.

For the first time Mercedes-Benz E-Class gets a “plug-in hybrid option,” called the interior range E350e. Electrified E-class combines a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine with an electric motor on a 90-kilowatt-hours. The total capacity of the power unit is 315 HP (234 kW) with 700 Nm of torque. The electric motor alone capable to develop 121 HP (90 kW) and 440 Nm.
This is only initial information. Neither the price nor the launch date in production is unknown. But most importantly, we can now see the charm of the redesigned MB, which, however, is more similar to the all-new model…
