Meet the most decorated women of the Dakar rally 2019

The Dakar rally is one of the most demanding of athletes and technology competitions in the world. It’s a race to the far distance on the road, which lasts for eleven grueling days. Challenge the challenges this year will throw 534 rider. Participants say that this is one of those events in life that at least once will test not only your driving skills but also your mental and emotional endurance. In the coming year, it will also have 10 women pilots.

10 women from more than five hundred participants is a little. Even more rare to see some achievements among them. Still to fight on equal terms with men, women find it difficult, at least physically. However, commitment, training and high tech equipment allow the ladies to win the local podiums on stages, surprising everyone with their achievements.

A pioneer in the world rally was in 1979, racer Christine Beckers who was not afraid to take on their fragile shoulders the difficult debut race of the first year of the existence of the transcontinental rally-marathon. Much later, Jutta Kleinschmidt became the first woman to win a stage in 1998, and then the first female winner in the overall classification of the rally-RAID “Paris-Dakar” in 2001.
